AGES FOR CAMP
All students entering 1st grade through 9th are elligible to attend summer camp. This is typically ages 5 through 14. Students are grouped into "teams" according to their age and gender. Each team has ten students or less and is led by a Senior Counselor along with additional CITs (see Camp Staff below).
HOW LUNCH WORKS
Students should bring their own lunch each day. When students arrive on site, their lunches will be placed in an assigned cooler until lunch time.
*If your child typically qualifies for free or reduced lunch, please indicate this in the registration packet.
WHAT TO BRING TO CAMP
Students need to bring a bag with his/her name visibly printed on it. Additional needed Items:
CAMP STAFF
The Aquatics Coordinator, oversees the camp management staff which includes; Camp Directors, Senior Counselors, Counselors-in-Training (CIT), Camp Instructors, Camp Lifeguards, Camp Volunteers, and Specialty Interns.
Under the direct supervision of the Aquatics Coordinator, the Camp Director for each school site is responsible for the overall safety, well-being, and whereabouts of all campers at all times. Camp Directors are also responsible for enhancing swimming knowledge and skills, developing leadership skills, and enhancing social development of individual campers.
Under the direct supervision of the Camp Director, the Senior Counselors are responsible for creating a fun environment that promotes individual growth through well-rounded and diversified recreation opportunities. Senior Counselors lead the same group of ten (10) campers throughout their action-packed day, with the assistance of the Counselors-In-Training (CIT). Senior Counselors will also be responsible for monitoring student arrival and departure from camp each day.
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Counselors & Camp Director, the Counselors-In-Training (CIT) will monitor and participate in group activities and assist with team spirit activities. CITs will also assist their assigned team in monitoring lunch, breaks, and bus loading and unloading.
All swim instructors are trained and experienced in water safety and swim technique instruction. All specialty instructors are trained and experience in their craft (i.e. canoeing, kayaking, scuba, art, sports, etc.)

*All camp staff is trained in American Red Cross CPR and First Aid!

CAMP SPECIALTY DESCRIPTIONS |
Basic to Advanced Swimming -Student’s swim skills are assessed the first day of camp. Students are then placed into the appropriate class level. Certified instructors will conduct lessons in groups of 5 swimmers or less.

Red Cross Lifesavers Training -Lifesavers camp consists of American Red Cross basic safety training. Our focus is to educate students on preventing accidents and teaching them how to respond to basic emergencies.
Students will learn CPR, first aid, and sport and swimming safety. Students who meet the basic Red Cross standards in these skills (and written test) will receive a certification card.
Babysitter's Training What you need to know and what every parent wants in a responsible babysitter!
Designed for 12- to 15-year olds (alternate version of class for 9 to 11-year-olds), the Babysitter’s Training Course can help you:
- Interview for a babysitting job
- Choose safe and age-appropriate toys and games
- Perform first aid
- Learn diapering and feeding techniques
- Handle bedtime issues
- Learn tips for having a safe babysitting experience
- And more!
Junior Safety Aquatic Team
Campers participating in the JSAT program will learn Basic Water Rescue Skills (how to prevent, recognize and respond to water emergencies), CPR, and First Aid. The Junior Safety Aquatic Team will also have hands-on experience observing swimmers and practicing responses for "mock emergencies." The focus of this program is to move students towards earning a Junior Lifeguarding completion certification and furthering the experience and education in the aquatics field. Students who meet the basic Red Cross standards in these skills (and written test) will receive a certification card.
