7th Grade Summer Reading
Read ONE of the following:
- A Corner of the Universe by Ann Martin
- Belle Prater’s Boy by Ruth White
- Nothing but the Truth by Avi
- Rules of the Road by Joan Bauer
- Summer of My German Soldier by Bette Greene
- When Zachary Beaver Came to Town by Kimberly Willis Holt
- Where the Lilies Bloom by Bill Cleaver
- Wolf Rider by Avi
Read one of the above novels. Keep a Reading Response Journal as you read. Write any questions, feelings, or thoughts that you have. Be sure to include descriptions of the main characters—not just physical descriptions but things that let you know what kind of person the character is. Include quotes that you feel are important—things that the character says, things other characters say about him or her, and things the narrator says about him or her. You should have entries (2-3 sentences) for each chapter. Turn in neatly written or typed journals. These need not be in a folder or notebook.
You will be given a writing assignment for your book during the first week of school. |
