The Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools announces a vacancy in the following position:

SPECIAL EDUCATION COORDINATOR

RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the supervision of the Executive Director of Special Education, the Special Education Coordinator is responsible for system wide planning for services for students with disabilities; establishing and monitoring of services for students with disabilities; conducting and providing support in professional development; providing training in the schools and communities; working with community organizations, and coordinating the referral, screening and placement of students identified as needing special education services.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess a current State of Tennessee license in special education; certification in Administration and Supervision; be able to provide evidence of successful classroom teaching and/or administrative experience.

It will be necessary to file a letter indicating interest in the above named vacancy along with a current resume or application listing the names, addresses, and phone numbers of at least (3) references, one of whom must be a current or past supervisor.

Consideration will be given to all who apply. Exact placement on the salary schedule depends upon educational qualifications and experience.
