The Metropolitan Nashville Board of Education announces a vacancy in the following position:

AT RISK STUDENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST
Department of Student Services
12 Months - Grade 10 - Base Hourly Rate $18.89

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Special Education or School Administration from an accredited college or university (Master’s Degree preferred).  Three (3) years experience specializing in dealing with challenging behaviors; must provide evidence of successful experience working in high poverty settings.  Prefer teacher certification in K-12 education.  Valid Tennessee Driver’s License; insured personal vehicle.

Facilitates intervention strategies for at risk students; collaborates with parents, teachers, community agencies and other school personnel to assess and monitor transition plans for individual students; coordinates other support services that may be necessary to support student’s behavior, transition and learning potential; conducts training sessions for school personnel in transition planning or other methods of effective intervention and behavior techniques.
