The Metropolitan Nashville Board of Education announces a vacancy in the following position:


FAMILY AND SCHOOL SERVICES COORDINATOR

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work with families from all backgrounds; familiarity with district and community family resources; successful leadership experiences; knowledge of No Child Left Behind law as related to family involvement requirements; able and willing to work nights and weekends.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in the development of a plan for building parent/family leaders at the school, cluster and district levels, including recruiting parent representatives to serve on School Improvement Plan committees, PTA/PTO committees, Cluster Parent Advisory Councils and other committees.  Coordinate Family Engagement community initiatives with efforts of applicable administrators, guidance counselors, Family Resources Managers, ELL translators, teachers, support staff and parents representing assigned schools. Collect and maintain assigned schools’ Family Engagement compliance documents for local, state and federal audit purposes.

SALARY: Coordinator pay; 12 months. Exact placement on the salary schedule depends upon educational qualifications and experience.
